Just got back from Aus so thought I’d share some of my best kept travel tips, along with a few things I can’t fly without. Enjoy!

1.    Hydration. Drinking plenty of water is a key factor in staying healthy and feeling fresh. Often it’s hard to consume enough fluids while aboard an aircraft, and it’s easy to become dehydrated. Knowing this, I try to consume extra water and plenty of electrolytes 24 hours prior to my departure. Coconut water is super hydrating and has loads of potassium, and is always my beverage of choice the morning of a long trip. I also make sure to bring an empty water bottle that I fill up as soon as I board, and am conscious about sipping the entire flight.

2.    Healthy Snacking. Plane food has always hurt my stomach, so I learned quickly I need to bring my own snacks for a long journey. Healthy fats, plenty of protein, and high fiber foods are key to keeping me feeling satisfied. Some of my favorite travel foods are raw macadamia nuts, dried unsweetened mango, organic brown rice cakes, and KIT’s ORGANIC bars by CLIF (I love the Dark Chocolate Almond Coconut). I’ve also recently gotten really into bringing an avocado on long flights (Make sure to eat it before you land if you are going outside the country or else it will be confiscated due to quarantine regulations).

3.     Keep Moving. Its really important for me to get up and walk every few hours while aboard an aircraft. I also like to go to the front of the plane where there is a little extra room and do some light stretching. This keeps me feeling loose and makes it so much easier to hit the water and train as soon as I land.

4.    Medicine Mama’s Sweet Bee Magic Wand. I’m completely addicted to this wand. It keeps my lips moist, and can be used on anything else that is chapped from flying and needs a little extra TLC.
