It’s been a little while since I last wrote in. It was a crazy 2016 to say the least. As many of you are aware I broke my ankle at the beginning of the year and that lead me to being out of the first 5 events of the season for the World Tour. Obviously, that is not what I had in mind for last year but reflecting now I learned so much about myself, my body, and overall health. I realized the importance of health even more than I did before! Health truly is wealth as they say…

All the time off last year gave me so much time to reflect and look at life from a different perspective. As odd as it might sound I wouldn’t take it back if I could. My 2016 was certainly tough on so many levels but was full of learning!

Enough about last year though, we are in 2017 now so it is time to get excited about the possibilities! On the surf front, I am back training hard and gearing up for a great new and fresh season ahead. On the culinary side, I have loved having the time to think up some awesome and healthy new recipes and smoothies that I will post on the site very very soon. My goal this year is simple: stay healthy, be strong and live completely in the moment. That means not looking too far ahead and also taking what I have learned from the past but not letting the past consume me.
